How to get promoted:

1) Required: min of 25 posts on ubi forums. The reason for this is that we need to increase our recruitment. If there are those of you who would like to be promoted, you must register on UBI, aquire and Avatar (I can help) and a 357th Blazing Magnums sig picture. You can go to our site and collect all the artwork you like. I will also help anyone with their avatar. You can post on any of the forums at ubi that you prefer. After your first post, copy the url of the post you made and email it to me. This is worth a promotion to anyone who completes the 25 posts in conjunction with any two of the following:

2) New CK requirements: (all current ranks are grandfathered)

Cadet: No Requirement/ OID not assigned until FO. Begin as BMC357_yourname

Flight Officer: Entry Level. Pilots receive an OID. Begin as BM357_yourname

2nd LT: 1 (plus 6 weeks + email recommendation from Captain or higher + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

1st LT: 5  (plus 3 months + email recommendation from Captain or highter + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

Captain: 10 (plus 6 months + email recommendation from Major or higher + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

Major: 25 (plus 9 mo + email recommendation from Lt Colonel or higher + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

Lt Colonel: 50 (plus 1 year + email recommendation from Colonel or higher + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

Colonel: 75 (plus 18 months + 25 posts on forums since last promotion since last promotion)

Brigadier General: 200 CK's + 2 years (must be Col + 25 posts on forums since last promotion)

Major General: 300 CK's + 3 years (must be Br Gen + 50 posts on forums since last promotion)

Lt General: 400 CK's + 4 years (must be Lt Gen + 50 posts on forums since last promotion)

General: 500 CK's  + 5 years (must be Lt Gen + 50 posts on forums since last promotion)

3) Major Contributions: Administrative, utility building, funding, services, mission building, organizing, successful recruiting. This has been the basis for our decision making in most promotions along with time spent and attendance. Now it will be one of the things that we will consider as a form of promotion along with those stated above.

4) Attendance of Major Events: Team players deserve recognition. An individual who never or rarely misses an official meeting, competition, campaign, etc. should receive recognition for it.

5) Ribbons - One factor that we will look at as well, is the number of merit ribbons you receive for completing certain tasks.

You do not necessarily have to have a bunch of CK's to get promoted at the lower levels, as you see, but it is one of the easiest ways (in conjunction with attendance and span of membership) of getting promotions. What do promotions mean? In one sense they are just a form of veteran status and membership contributions (either by public works or attendance). They reflect how much participation and how long you have been with the 357th VFG.

How important is ranking? It is only a small facet of the what it means to be a member of the 357th.
